Title: Aliens In My Backyard
Artist: Patricio Jijon

Location: Brooklyn, New York
Aliens In My Backyard is conceived as a hybrid audiovisual system in which sound and image operate as a single, evolving field of motion. The music moves through EDM, electro-punk, breakbeat, and sci-fi ambient, shaped through direct physical performance rather than programmed sequences. Rhythmic structures, synthetic textures, and modulation gestures are produced through tactile interaction—hands on machines, fingers turning knobs—translating human movement into energetic signals.
Visually, the project unfolds as a speculative narrative embedded in New York City’s punk dive bar culture. Gritty neon interiors and underground spaces become the stage for a transformation in which familiar social environments shift into cosmic territories. The dive bar is revealed as a contained system within a massive asteroid, where its inhabitants—human and non-human—exist as travelers moving through time, space, and multiple dimensions.
