My grandmother Michita, Mercedes Larco, died from Covid on April 16, 2021. She was a mathematician professor, and a wonderful mother of 2 brothers and 3 sisters. @jijonlarco @patriciojijonlarco @rociojijonlarco @jijonig @jijonsandra This portrait is made from algebra and mathematic books from Michita, history books from my grand dad Arturito, and family memorabilia from my father and my brothers.
When Michita was a little girl she wants to become an astronaut, of course that option was impossible to achieve in Ecuador at that time and space, so then she became a mathematician professor.
In Michita funeral I couldn't speak up, I was scared of Covid, very sad for my family, and angry against religion, both of my grandparents were atheist. Today is Michita Bday and I want to celebrate her, sharing a special mantra I repeat over my head in her funeral.(Science, Math, Biology, Astronomy, Engineering, Algebra, Chemistry, Magnetic Energy, Quantum Physics, The Sun, The Stars, The Universe, The Time and Space)
We miss you Michita, thank you for all the inspiration and sharing your love, knowledge and respect for arts and science.
