Shiva Portrait Series is a collection of photographs that capture the essence of the Hindu deity, Shiva, through the portrayal of individuals embodying his divine principles. The series is a creative collaboration between the Patricio Jijón and the Ecuadorian artists, Stephanie Garcia, Jamel Maldonado, and Juan Francisco Jijón.
In Hindu mythology, Shiva is the god of destruction and transformation, and is also associated with meditation, enlightenment, and music. Through the use of symbolic elements, such as the trident, serpent, and third eye, in this series Shiva instruments represents a powerful force of change and spiritual growth.
